The apex of the balloons ascent was 100,000 feet (30 kilometers) this is near space as the picture from the on-board camera shows.
We were able to track the balloon because of the community developed electronics in the payload which provided gps, barometric and radiometric data.
After a couple of hours, Harvinder and Pete were able to retrieve the payload and camera.
